今年で４７回目を迎えた東京スポーツ新聞社制定「２０２０年度プロレス大賞」授与式が都内で行われ、年間最高試合賞（ベストバウト）は新日本プロレス１月５日東京ドーム大会で行われたＩＷＧＰヘビー級・インターコンチネンタル（ＩＣ）ダブル王座戦、オカダ・カズチカ（３３）対内藤哲也（３８）戦に決定した。７年連続受賞のオカダは、歴代２位となる通算８度目のベストバウト獲得。「天龍さんの記録を塗り替えないよう、ほどほどにいきます」と余裕のコメントを出していた。
