What can you say about Manami Toyota that hasn't been said. She might not have been Joshi wrestling's biggest star but she was Joshi greatest worker, without a doubt. I always say she was HBK/Bret Hart of Joshi.

She always delivered in the main event and produced top quality matches. The scary thing was she was doing this during the 91 to 96 period (which is her most acclaimed time of her career) when was only in her early 20's most top workers don't hit that type of form until early 30's. She has been the only female wrestler to win Wrestler of the Year in Wrestling Observer Newsletter and also won match of the year in 1993. Dave Meltzer gave her a dozen 5 star matches. She was a fantastic bumper and seller, and made her rivals look as great as her in her matches. You can see by her retirement here, how much she is held in high esteem by her fellow workers. Also to boot she was one of the sexiest women pro wrestler's around at her peak, also she has one of the best twitter pages around where she usually on the piss up with Carlos Amano, Toshiyo Yamada and Etsuko Mita.
