IF YOU ARE STILL CONFUSED...
If you describe wrestling as fake, you are half right. You basically just don't understand the whole Wrestling buisness. You keep saying to yourself its fake but your mind still think its real. That's because your mind sees something that is not fake about it. Which is the element of what you don't see in movies. What you see in movies is called "selling". This means they are trying to buy you into thinking its real. While you know its not, you just play along.
It should not be a suprice how wrestling is watch by 35 plus million people largely because of the entertainment aspects. The promotion, advertising etc.. Vince says to himself in an interview "We make movies".
What you don't see in action movie like fast and furious is atlethsism. In a nutshel the whole WWE buisness is called Sports-Entertainment as you may have heard already. That is why your mind keeps telling you "something is real about this".
Wrestling alone is not fake, its scripted. Fake is the wrong word to describe wrestling. Because scripted simply means that its predetermined. And "fake" implies to no damage done at all. But wrestling is not just a movie, it has sport in it. Which means that some wrestlers do get injured, Brock Lesnar said "not all the time...but were getting hurt". It should be fair to say that wrestling is more real than Fast and Furious. Imagine all that movies you thought were real? Wait, no you knew it all along. It doesn't normally cross your mimd because you watch it simply for entertainment. Which is how wrestlers risk their bodies each and every night just to entertain everyone. That to me deserves respect.
The "Sport" part is what separate the business from movies, hence make them "real".
In short Wrestling is about athleticism , sportsmanship and entertainment, not violence.
It brings satisfaction in me to explain these whole confusion. Because me myself was confused. And beside popping the bubble but also make it clear to most people. As it makes even smartest people dumb simply because they don't understand Sports-Entertainment. I guess what I'm trying to say is, respect them, drop the word fake, its not fake its scripted, they are not just actors, but passionate individuals that will do risky things which could get them injured worse killed, just to bring a smile to some kids face. This is what's real.
So when your friend says WWE is fake tell them they are half right. But also tell them that it's real.
